More than 10,000 Physicians and Medical Scientists Sign “Rome Declaration” in Protest, Launch New Information Platform
The circle is widening.
Doctors around the world are stepping up and stepping outside of traditional institutions seemingly bent on constraining discourse and dissension from the government's narrative.
In the face of collapsing confidence and loss of autonomy in treating patients, they are creating a new paradigm of collaboration and care.
One that adheres to the Hippocratic Oath to, "First, do no harm."
We wrap up this week's global perspective with a declaration of import.
Just a couple of weeks ago, doctors and scientists gathered at the Global Covid Summit in Rome to "reclaim their leadership role.”
The statement begins…
We the physicians of the world, united and loyal to the Hippocratic Oath, recognizing the profession of medicine as we know it is at a crossroad, are compelled to declare the following;
WHEREAS, it is our utmost responsibility and duty to uphold and restore the dignity, integrity, art and science of medicine;
WHEREAS, there is an unprecedented assault on our ability to care for our patients…
